Biography
I am a physicist by training who fell passionate about electrocatalyst materials and electrocatalysis. During my academic career I have worked in the synthesis and characterization of nanocatalyst materials for electrochemical energy conversion reactions and photocatalysis. Synchrotron based X-ray experimental techniques in operando conditions, including wide angle X-ray scattering and absorption spectroscopy, are an integral part of my research work.
Short Curriculum Vitae
I have graduated in semiconductor Physics in University of Pavia (Italy) in the group of Prof. Vittorio Bellani. Then I moved for my PhD in photocatalytic water splitting at the Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU, Denmark) in the group of Prof. Ib Chorkendorff. After a first postdoctoral stay at DTU Nanotech in the group of Prof. Ole Hansen, I started my postdoctoral training at the Technische Universität Berlin (TUB) in the group of Prof. Peter Strasser, in the department of Chemical Engineering. During these past years, I spent time as visiting scientist at various places such as the renowned University of Tokyo (Japan), the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (Germany) andJohnson Matthey Fuel Cells ( UK).
Currently, I work as a scientist with permanent position at TUB. As project leader in Prof. Strasser group, I have coordinated projects between European universities and companies. I have taught in Lab Courses at TUB and DTU, and successfully supervised a number of Bachelor and Master theses. |
